Polycab’s Extra High Voltage (EHV) Cables are meticulously crafted for extended durability and superior UV resistance. Available with both copper and aluminium conductors, these cables are capable of handling voltages from 66 kV to 220 kV in underground installations for 3-phase AC circuits. They boast exceptional longitudinal and radial water resistance and are engineered to transmit electricity from power stations to distribution units or substations, offering a service life exceeding 40 years.
Polycab’s largest High Voltage Cable manufacturing plant is situated in Halol, Gujarat. This facility houses state-of-the-art machinery, including equipment from Maillifer, Scolz, and John Royale, alongside an advanced testing facility. The plant’s sophisticated automation for material feeding prevents contamination and electrical failures, while high-speed wire drawing and stranding machines ensure precise conductor preparation.
Polycab’s EHV Cables have successfully passed rigorous type testing as per IEC 60840, IEC 62067, and IS 7098-3 Standards. These comprehensive tests encompass all critical parameters—electrical, mechanical, thermal, and installation aspects—guaranteeing unparalleled quality and reliability.
