There have been measures globally to take internet-connectivity to the people, beyond the boundaries of cities to rural and remote areas. Polycab Telecom is uniquely positioned as an EPC Project Implementing Agency (PIA), which builds digital highways in an End-to-End Network Roll-out manner to empower rural aeras with seamless high-speed data-availability.
WE’VE REVOLUTIONISED LIVES BY
FACILITATING MULTIPLE SERVICES
FOR THE RURAL POPULATION
WITH INTERNET-CONNECTIVITY
& HIGH-SPEED DATA-AVAILABILITY.
We provide network infrastructure-services, depending on different requirements and
design-models for networking and architecture in rural areas.
We design and build optic – fiber-connected network, backbone for a village.
We ensure and manage end-to-end network up-time and reliability of data-transfer
for varied applications.
By laying optical-fiber highway through villages, we facilitate mobile operators, internet
service-providers & government agencies to deliver multiple services to the rural
populace at their doorsteps. We’re here to make rural transformation happen with all the
socio-economic activities, as an EPC PIA, in an End-to-End Network Roll-out.
Our services have a big arc, in delivering timely and successful roll-out of fibre-optic network. Our offerings include:
We’ve already created an OFC-network in Gujarat & Bihar, under Govt. of India’s BharatNet, world’s largest rural broadband project. We’ve laid more than 20,000 kms of OFCs for connecting almost 4,775 Gram Panchayats in the two states, in the stipulated timeframe. Seamless internet-connectivity high-speed data-availability will facilitate multiple services and revolutionize lives for the rural population in both the states.
Riding on the success of back-to-back BharatNet Phase-II projects in Gujarat (Package B) and Bihar (Package 3) as a Project Implementing Agency, Polycab Telecom got awarded the high-profile contract of a Master System Integrator by Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited (TANFINET) lately, to implement the BharatNet Phase-II project in the districts demarcated under Package A in Tamil Nadu.
BharatNet Project has to be implemented in Tamil Nadu through a State-led model and a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) namely, Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited (TANFINET), has been incorporated for the same.
We’ve been on-boarded as a Master System Integrator by TANFINET under the Master Service Agreement. The implementation of the project has been divided into four packages, i.e. A, B, C and D, with the Master System Integrator for the Package A and System Integrator for each of the other packages, i.e. B, C and D. As per the agreement, we’ve got to provide end-to-end connectivity with high-speed bandwidth using Optical Fibre Cables in 3,095 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in 75 Blocks across 9 districts of Tamil Nadu under Package A. Our scope of work involves site-survey, design, fiber-laying, integration, commissioning and O&M to enable Gram Panchayats in the delineated districts with a minimum scalable bandwidth of 1Gbps.
The delineated districts in the state under the Package A are: Chengalpattu, Kancheeipuram, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Chennai. We would be laying around 13,500 Fibre kms, with almost 85% being overhead and the rest underground, as mandated by the TANFINET. Maintenance of the network in the first 12 months will be our responsibility, till we hand the Lit Up GPs over to the govt. Under the agreement, one year is for implementation, including the year for the warranty and 3 years for the O&M, so in total, we’ve to maintain it for 4 years. We’re also mandated to show 10% of the progress in work every month to the govt., in order to execute the project in time.
We’ll be rolling out the fibre-network in all the delineated districts with IP-MPLS (Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching) Electronics, a network-support that uses the IP Protocol, augmented with MPLS-routing. A central element of our responsibility is to set up the State NOC (Network Operations Centre) at Chennai to integrate all the GPs under the project, including the GPs under the other Packages, i.e. B, C and D. So, in a sense, Polycab Telecom would play a pivotal role in the whole scheme of things, by being involved in continuous monitoring of the performance and health of the entire network in BharatNet Phase-II in Tamil Nadu.
